Busy summer continues...
Got back today from up north where I went sailing for the past few days. Very fun, good times. Before that I was in MA/CT with Erica. We went to Amherst so she could go to school and Sarah met us for lunch at ABC. Then Sarah and I went to Yankee Candle and Atkins and some other places. I loooove Yankee Candle...anyway...for dinner we met Heather and Rachel at a Fridays in CT in between all of us. Erica and I stayed at Sarah's that night, played trivial pursuit ,and went letterboxing in the mornign - my first letterboxing experience.
The next Erica and I drove up north. I was supposed to go to Burlington with her on Wednesday (last Wednesday, Aug 10) but instead I woke up in the middle of the night thorwing up, so I spent the day on the coach with nausea, muscle pains, and an on again off again fever. Unfortuneyl my nausea lasted through part of the sailing trip, but none of these other symptoms. We left for sailing on Friday, ancohred in Westport, went to the galley, saw a band. Did a shot of yaeger that was bought for us - not a good idea when you're nauseous. Saturday we sailed to Burlington, the only actual sailing on the trip. Burlington was fun, but hot. We shopped around a little, had margaritas, went to dinner at the New England Culinary Institute. The next day we motored to valcour and spent the day resting and reading. Had a really good dinner while anchored and then had drinks and cigars. On Monday the weather was beautiful so we went onto Valcour Island and hiked it, then came back and went swimming off of the boat. Then we went to Plattsburgh where we went to monopole pizza and the naked turtle.
Now i have a day and a half or so of nothing, although I need to go buy some shoes for dana's wedding. On Friday I drive to Yonkers which I'm sooo excited for. It's Kristin's welcome home party, so it'll be a bunch of people some of whom I haven't seen since June, April, December, others I haven't seen in over a year, so I'm very very excited. Kind of like a big reunion. There are 41 confirmed guests right now, plus a surprise or two! It's going to be a little crazy, but so fun. On Sunday I leave right from Yonkers and driver all the way back to Buffalo so I can get my plane to CA on Monday morning. Dana's bachelorette party is on Tuesday night, the rehearsal dinner is Thursday, and the wedding is Friday, so it should be busy, plus filled with whatever Jenny and I can do to help and maybe some crammed in sightseeing. After that trip I'll probably come home again and hopefully spend labor day weekend with Kristin and Rebecca. And then, real life kicks back in the day after labor day! It's been a crazy summer!!
I think I finally stopped having Vienna/Europe dreams. I was having different weird dreams about the trip just about eveyr night, but I guess my mind decided that over two weeks later it was about time for that to stop. Thank you.
Ok, going to possibly find something productive to do now, like applying for jobs for next summer or unloading the car.
